Static Room Media is a filmmaking team led by husband-and-wife duo Joel Watson and Shelli Ryan—accomplished storytellers with deep technical command of the craft, honed over 25 years across narrative features, documentaries, television, and commercials for networks including ABC, NBC, and FOX. Our creative focus is producing unique, genre-bending independent feature films and we apply the same command of craft to editorial and post-production clients.

Meet the Team
Creative Minds Behind Sleeper Hold and Jake's Closet
Joel is a veteran, three-time Emmy-nominated editor whose work spans countless cable, network, and streaming shows. Shelli is an award-winning writer-director whose feature debut, Jake's Closet, earned critical acclaim and feature film editor. We currently have two directing projects on the festival circuit and Joel's feature directing debut, Sleeper Hold, is currently in post-production and slated for release in late 2026.
